Erik is a true angel. Just the other day, I found myself paddling alone from the Hoover Dam to Willow Beach, with a strict deadline of reaching the beach by 3 pm. The initial miles were delightful, with breathtaking scenery to accompany me. I made a stop at the Arizona Spring and, while exploring the Springs, I unfortunately slipped on the slippery stairs, resulting in minor injuries. Nonetheless, this setback didn't dampen my spirits. As I continued my journey, a strong gust of wind suddenly picked up, blowing against me and making the paddling experience quite arduous. Despite exerting considerable effort, my progress was painfully slow against the powerful current. Complicating matters further, there was no mobile signal in the canyon, leaving me with two undesirable choices: either push on, potentially arriving at the beach around 8 pm if I were lucky and still had energy, or prepare to spend an unanticipated night in the Canyon, for which I was ill-prepared. Both options were undesirable since I had promised my family that I would contact them before 3 pm. Adding to the isolation, I hardly encountered anyone throughout the trip, except for a few kayakers who had chosen to camp overnight. Faced with this dilemma, I made the decision to seek help from the first person I would come across. And that's when Erik appeared. He arrived in his boat, noticing my waving hands, and without hesitation, he approached and pulled me onto his boat, securing my board behind. As we made our way to Willow Beach, we engaged in extensive conversations about life and our past experiences. Erik recounted his previous life in Alaska, his remarkable talents, and the numerous outdoor certifications he had obtained, such as rock climbing, kayaking, and fishing. He enthusiastically shared his journey to Las Vegas and spoke passionately about his new business, Cimarron Voyage. Despite my lack of fishing experience, I was captivated by his wealth of knowledge. He even turned on the radar and taught me how to locate fish. We also discussed effective strategies for attracting new customers. The remainder of the day became an incredibly memorable and enjoyable experience for me. When we reached Willow Beach well ahead of schedule, Erik dropped me off at the shore and refused to accept any payment, even though I insisted on contributing towards the gas. As I sat on the beach, with the wind growing stronger and never changing its direction, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for making the right decision and crossing paths with Erik. In fact, he mentioned that he had noticed me when he first traveled upstream to the dam, and with his experience, he foresaw the trouble I might encounter with the strong wind that day. If I ever return to the Las Vegas area, I will undoubtedly bring my family to Erik for a full day of fishing. Not only because I know he is a skilled fisherman, but also because he possesses a kind and compassionate heart.

Had a wonderful time with Captain Erik on the river! Went fishing with a few friends. It was so beautiful out there. Erik is a very knowledgeable guide. The hotsprings were really lovely. Was pretty amazing because we were the only people there since the walking trails were closed for the season. I highly recommend Cimarron Voyages if you want a a custom made trip and to get outside and see the beautiful that Vegas had to offer. Thanks Captain Erik!!
