Nice hike overall. Summit is all trees though so not as good scenic views as some of the other 4000 footers.

Easily accessible along Zealand Rd. In the winter however it will cost you a 2.5 mile walk to the actual trailhead due to winter road closures. It is worth every bit of it.

Steady rise most of way fairly easy. 1.5 hours to summit . Hiked up Hale Brook trail. Did not see much due to a 4 a.m. start. Hiked the lend a hand trail to Zealand shelter for a snack before decending Zealand trail back to Hale Brook trail head 5 hours round trip with lots of stops for pics. Overall not a difficult hike. Definitely a good start if your looking to bag some peaks.
