American Airlines

Yesterday I had the absolute worst experience with AA. In August I traveled to visit my niece in California. I traveled AA because they merge with Jet Blue. No other reason I have experienced what I felt were very Racially Bias experiences with American. Yesterday just remind me how rigid and not customer friendly their policys are. Especially at a time where we are alllll grieving and dealing with PANDEMIC issues. I received a Voucher for volunteering to travel at a later time in Cali. So I used it to purchase return flights from Puerto Rico for my daughter and I. We had a early start !!! 3am to board at 5am. I for whatever reason could not check in via app so I plan to do so at the airport. The ticket agent said that although I had given the agent who helped we with the reservation back in March all the info on the voucher I had yo present it in person. Wellll the voucher was sitting in Boston as I am in PR !!!! Instead they offered me tickets for each of $ 440.00 and so didnt even offer to honor the price paid !!!! Wouldnt even look at emails sent to me from American or Images I had taken of the voucher or agent who completed the trasaction back in California. You suckkkkk AA and I am seeking legal action I will be blasting this experience on all forms of media. My daughter and I traveled back home to Boston or Delta !!!!! They are amazing ! They agent was so helpful and empathetic to what we had experienced earlier that morning. As an advocate for Seniors and folks with disabilities I wonder how it would of played out if I had not been able to purchase another ticket ? American you failed you failed you failed ! Policy around vouchers needs to change you could of been more helpful at the counter. And also at the time it was issued. Even if it means asking for more info. To better identify the customer it was issued too. This policy of the voucher is as good as a check is BS !
