Journey's End

Dr. Sernik was amazing. She explained the process and was so empathetic and kind. Our sweet pup Sarah crossed over peacefully and is now pain free. The fact that Sarah went in the comfort of our home made a hard decision so much easier. Thank you!! - The Sawyer Family

Words cant explain how thankful I am for journeys end today we had to put down our beloved family dog and my childhood dog Maggie and I wanna say you made us feel comfortable and very polite and I said I needed a couple of mins and you we very polite and said take your time and let me say my final goodbyes thank you so much for what you do I could not recommend Journeys end enough.

When we finally knew our 17-year old cat Damian was too tired and weak, my brother and sister in law reached out to Dr. Sernick after receiving a referral from another family member. Damian had kidney disease, and after his diagnosis, my mother did everything she could to provide him with extra care to prolong his life, including IV injection, and we were lucky to have several more years with him that we wouldn't have had. Damian was the sweetest fuzzy baby and angel, so when this day came it felt gut-wrenching. However, Dr. Sernick was so patient. She cared for him in my brother and sister in law's bedroom where he often comfortably slept on their fluffy comforter, wrapped in his little blanket. This was such a better experience than taking him to a vet in the car in the cold (it was winter), where he would have been panicked. During the visit, Dr. Sernick asked questions about Damian's life which allowed us to reminisce and slightly eased the pain. She treated him with such dignity through the whole process. She wrote the most heartfelt letter to our family afterwards, and his remains were packaged so beautifully. We are incredibly grateful for her taking what feels like an impossible moment and easing us through it.

Putting a pet to rest is one of the hardest decisions we can make. Making that phone call is heartbreaking. We were fortunate enough to be able to give our baby peace in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his fur siblings and family after a weekend filled with his favorite things. Dr. Sernik, what to say about Dr. Sernik. She was amazing. Talked us through the process on the phone and was patient with us in our time of pain. Her presence in our home was calming. She allowed us to take our time and say our goodbyes unrushed. Our pal was eating treats with his sister one minute and peacefully sleeping the next minute. She is compassionate and the after session follow up with notes and cards was just so comforting. Thank you dr Sernik for helping us do the hardest thing but the best thing for our guy.
