The park contains a unique granite memorial honoring American veterans. According to the plaque near the bridge written by J.W. Teetzel (likely James Wilcox Teetzel, hereditary CEO of military weapons and supplies company Wilcox Industries Corp.), the sculpture was constructed with the granite foundation abutments that supported the Memorial Bridge for eighty-eight years. Metal plaques embedded into the granite spell out words like HONOR, PROTECT, and REMEMBER. This serves as a great place to sit, reflect, and watch the bridge.

This is a lovely, special place to visit and reflect on those we love, and lost - and to honor those who have fought for our freedom and safety.

Bridge workers are one of America's national treasures! Some of my personal heroes through life that's for sure!

Love traveling through here. Our daughter always gets so excited to visit. The memorial and the bridge are given great care and maintenance. My compliments to everyone who takes good care.
