18 flat miles from Gorham NH to Whitefield (and it's free). Just a short walk in from the Whiefied end is 100-acre natural and wild Cherry Pond, a good opportunity to see nature. Moose are sometimes seen here. Just a little further is a spectacular view of the presidential mountain range and some great foliage at the right time of year. There's also a large beaver pond where you can sometimes see active beaver. In late June and early July the lupine are spectacular. It is part of the Cross NH Adventure Trail. Surface is usually in good shape for wider tired bikes Parking: Limited number of spaces but usually there are available spots. Fees: Free Restrooms: Portapotty at Whitefield parking area (seasonal)

Gorgeous views along this trail with well planned rest stops in natural areas. Wish I had brought my hybrid so I could've seen all of it; pretty heavy gravel.
