Al is a dedicated excavating and paving professional that has done a great job at our new house. He corrected a grading problem that was left from a previous contractor and Al together with his 2 sons did a fantastic job with the Belgium block and driveway. Top quality work at a fair price. I give this Family business my highest recommendation.

Al and his crew are thorough, hard working, and deliver beautiful results. I got estimates from six different companies to handle a 30 year+ driveway that was in disrepair. With one exception, all of the other companies spent about 10 minutes onsite and just wanted to "score another job". Al was the only one to come with his transom and spend time discussing water issues for different options, and he presented two possible solutions. The work was done in two phases, with the tear out and grading first and the paving done a couple of weeks later when the weather cooperated. The beautiful results were worth the wait. I highly recommend A&S, Al, and his entire crew!

Al had done a small portion of our driveway a few years back. We needed to do a large portion over from the last paving job (we have a very long driveway on a farm). I can't say enough about the professionalism and quality of the job from estimate to finish. The crew is meticulous and after six months, the grass has grown in now for a while and it looks fantastic.

A & S replaced our 700 foot long driveway one year ago (2019). It was the second highest estimate out of five but we got a good vibe from Al the owner. We didn't have any issues working with them and they showed up when they said they would. Most of the area what was replaced looks good, probably 90%. There are a few areas in the main parking area that appeared insufficiently compacted such that gravel was loose and popping out within just a few weeks. Keep in mind that we went on a 10 day long vacation the day after the job was done so there was no driving or parking on it during the restricted time. We had Al come check it out because we were losing a LOT of gravel out of it in several areas. He claimed it was normal due to how much recycled material is being put in the mixes (side note, when we asked about recycled material before the job he claimed they use a mill with the lowest recycled content and that no one offers virgin asphalt anymore). He also claimed that when we get a sealcoat job the following year, it would not only fill in the craters but also stop the gravel pops. Fast forward to this year, we got several quotes for sealcoating and ALL the operators that saw the driveway for quotes said the job was "trash", "overcooked" and several other words I won't repeat here. Long story short, we did have it sealed and the areas in question are still rough and cratered right in the spots we see most often. I cannot recommend A & S as we paid over $20,000 for a driveway that looks like it's 10 years old in spots.
