        I have been a member of GSFCU since the late 80s and like most things and places, GSFCU has changed, and not necessarily for the better. Just recently I informed them of my intention to close my accounts because of a situation I had with them. I did a mobile deposit with them that had an incorrect date so they're rejected it. Fine, I understood. So I did what I think most people would have done, I deposited a new check with the correct date. I then started getting low balance alerts. I check my account and I see activity I didn't understand. I then called them and I informed that there was a hold on my account due to the two deposits I made on the same day. If you rejected a deposit, how does that count as a deposit. Secondly, why is the amount of the hold more than the check I deposited? This meant you are holding money in my account that was available before your hold. It got worse. They actually started charging me insufficient fund fees for checks written on those once available funds before the hold. I will. be closing my accounts with them.

In 1985, we expanded our field of membership to include other sponsor companies, as well as people who live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Newark, Elizabeth, or Jersey City.
