DoubleTree by Hilton Somerset Hotel and Conference Center

Everything was great except for the exposed BX wiring that the AC was plugged into. As an adult, I know better, but little kids that may stay in that room? IDK

My experience started with being met by 2 fire trucks upon check in. The firemen advised that they were responding to a malfunction with the fire alarm so I proceeded to check in. Once I arrived at my room I discovered that the alarm that was malfunctioning was directly across from my room. I advised the front desk repeatedly of this until 5am when the matter was resolved but unfortunately resulted in neither my wife, kids, or me receiving any sleep. The second day of my stay was fine but the third day before check out, we stopped at the restaurant to get breakfast at 9am. We ordered, my wife chose the eggs benidict and I ordered the contential breakfast. Approximately 30 mins later my wife still hadn't received her food. I advised the waiter of the problem and stated that I had a engagement to attend at 10am and asked him to box it up to go. I then asked for the check, this took an additional 10 or so minutes. Eventually I walked over to the register and advised the waiter that if he couldn't get the check for me then I would have to return at a later time to pay. He produced the check and I payed. On my way to the engagement I realized that I had been overcharged for the breakfast. I called the front desk but was greeted by a clerk who was less than thrilled to assist me and proceeded to argue with me about the charges. Finally she transfered me to the restaurant where ultimately the manager stated that he would resolve the issue. Then to top it all of the hotel was running low on cookies and didn't seem to ever have any. I been a Hilton customer for years but after this experience I won't be staying at another Hilton property. I truly expected better and upon every prior stay at a Hilton property have received better but this situation was simply unexcusable and I will not pay to have a miserable experience.
