I am unable to give a positive review. I was seen back March by one of nurse practitioners. After meeting with her she suggested I get an mri and seek physics therapy. After waiting for my insurance to approve the mri, I was finally able to go. In addition, I had already attended physical therapy for almost two months. At no time did Spine University contact me with my results or how I should proceed. In fact, both myself and physical therapist contacted them on multiple occasions, yet nobody responded. I guess if youre not a surgery patient you arent a priority.

As background, for several years I suffered from lower back pain and restricted movement. Most recently I had difficulty walking long distances and standing up straight due to tightness in my back. I finally decided to contact a spine surgeon and made an appointment with Dr. Nikhil Sahai at University Spine Center. He listened to my description of my symptoms, took my medical history, and did a thorough examination, including ordering an X-ray and an MRI. He determined that one of the nerves in my lower spine was being compressed, plus I had a buildup of arthritis in the area, all of which was causing my pain and restricted movement. We discussed treatment options and agreed that a minimally invasive surgical procedure would provide me with the most relief. In April 2023 my same-day surgery was performed successfully at St. Josephs Hospital. Its amazing that an incision of only 1.5 inches was needed! Almost immediately following the surgery, I felt so much better! I had only minor postsurgical pain, which subsided after a few days. I was also encouraged to take short walks during my recovery, first using a walker and then without, to keep my back from tightening up. A few weeks have passed since the surgery and Im getting around very well with no more pain. If youre dealing with back pain, I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Sahai! He provided me with compassionate care, described the surgical procedure in great detail, answered all of my questions, and listened to my concerns at every step of the way. My overall experience with him and his team was excellent!

After an extended period of back pain, physical therapy and pain management, Dr. Sahai suggested a laminectomy to relieve my husband's debilitating lower back pain. Dr. Sahai performed the surgery at Morristown Memorial Hospital and my husband reported that he felt "fabulous" when I was able to see him following surgery in the recovery area. He continues to be pain free. Dr. Sahai exuded confidence, technical skill and provided us with details of the surgery in an understandable and comforting manner. He was prepared to answer all of my husband's questions, following his own research, with complete and detailed explanations. University Spine is our 'go to' Center for spine/neck issues, as my husband previously had neck surgery with Dr. Emami - with a similar successful and satisfying experience. This medical group is certainly staffed with competent, capable and caring surgeons who exemplify the highest quality of spine care in pre- and post-surgical care and attention.

I scheduled my Daughter first appointment at the Clifton office for today 3/30/2023 at 3:15 once I got there the only person working there told me that they dont have any doctors available at that location. I said but you gave an appointment at 3:20 oh sorry she said they booked you at Wayne not Clifton and I showed her my text that it was confirmed at Clifton and she said oh! they made a mistake i will call the them so they can wait for you. I guess she lied because the Wayne office called me and a non professional worker said! We have to reschedule for another day when I was half way there. I said cancel I will go somewhere else. I will tell my pedestrian not to recommend any more patients to this so called University Spine -but not professional and not trust worthy practice.
