I love this school. I attended from ACVHS to DATA. I've learned so much from this school and had it not been for here, I would have dropped out and wouldn't be working where I am or met some of my greatest friends. Many of the staff at this school are the same from when I last went in '08. I never experienced any negativity I see in the reviews here. The teachers reciprocate the effort you show them, so before you blame a school; evaluate what y'all as students are doing wrong.

I like the people and most of the teachers are good at their jobs, 10/10 would learn there.

Hello! I am writing this comprehensive in depth review and giving my overall thoughts and experience with this school. My goal of writing this review is not to discourage anyone from attending this school but rather give my insight on how this school can improve in quality. I wish nothing but the best for Data. To start things off, I'd like to say that data was a dream school for me. I've been a freelance editor for over 5 years and a freelance graphic designer with over 6 years of experience. I have worked with many organizations and brands across the world and have had over 100 satisfied clients. My dream career is to become an After Effects or Photoshop teacher preferably at Data. I am also a high school drop out which I will explain why I chose this path and why I chose to become self taught in the field of editing and designing full-time. I attended Data freshman year and dropped out sophomore year due to the fact that I believed it would be more beneficial to pursue my editing career without the help of their education. I also had a severe anxiety disorder and DPDR. I'll start by explaining what Data does great. Their adminstration is very professional and I believe they know what they are doing. They definitely are a very talented group of individuals with a hard working team that can help and support just about any student who has any issues. The problem at Data is not the administration. The problem is their education and curriculum. I looked forward to going to Data to study editing and design however was left in disappoint when I soon quickly realized that this school just does not have a very great way of teaching. The Photoshop teacher at the time who I am unsure if they still work there was one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, they are a nice person but they're method of teaching was very disappointing. Playing YouTube tutorials on the projector almost every day while offering very little engagement is not a good way to teach. I came to this school to engage in my passion of design. If I wanted to watch tutorials online I would have stayed home. The same goes for editing. It honestly felt like I was just going to school just to do what I could easily do at home. In fact i think anyone would learn better doing their own studying of Photoshop and editing at home than attending this school. In short I felt like they just were not teaching us. I don't even think the design teacher knew anything about designing. I was genuinely surprised wondering how they got the job. Sure they were able to help some students with basics but I thought it would be more than that. That is the main reason I decided to leave. The other complaints I have is I've seen some horrible things happen here. The physics teacher Aaron J was a borderline sociopath who I am pretty sure should not be allowed anywhere near a school mainly because he would borderline harass students and say some horrible things to people who misbehaved. I understand discipline but I was honestly terrified to go to his classroom with the fear of being roasted for my mistakes. I've never had him yell at me or anything thankfully but it was still very unpleasant and I felt unsafe at times. He has made several students cry. I'm unsure if he still works there. If he doesn't that's amazing. Other than that I would say Data is not a horrible school. If you want to learn the basics such as Math, English, Science, and History data is perfectly fine. Those teachers were great. However if you're looking to follow your dreams of becoming proficient in Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, or any creative software. This school is not it. They simply need to work on their teaching methods and curriculum. I honestly don't know anyone who found the Graphic Design or Editing class helpful in anyway. In conclusion I think data is a great school for the average student. They offer good classes, a great campus, and overall just a good experience. I hope this review can help improve Data's quality.
