        Strange experience trying to get the NY state inspection. They did their own inspection of my car without doing the state inspection, at all. Sent me photos of various parts of my car and an invoice for $3600 with a list of 11 things I needed to do before they could pass my car. I told them I couldnt afford it, they offered me financing and cheaper parts, but it all started to feel like a scam. I confirmed with a friend that nothing on that list was actually needed to pass the inspection. After I declined they didnt do the state inspection and didnt charge me for it. I immediately took my car to another shop in the area and it passed and I was done within an hour. This is probably an unfortunate sales tactic they use on people who may not know any better. Be wary and get a second opinion before committing to this shop.
