I absolutely ruined my wood cabinet doors trying to restain them myself. It all started with me using a degreaser to clean the built up cooking grease off. Well let me tell you, that simple action took ALL the stain off down to the bare wood. I was so horified at my mistake.
I tried to re-stain like 4 times with help from everyone - from the big box stores to my local helpful hardware stores to the floor staining guys and no luck. I was really ready to give up after months of trying to find a good stain match on my own.
So I started going to lots of cabinet stores in hopes of finding a spare door to match my 8year old cabinets. I was having no luck.
Finally came across a local cabinet company who referred this guy to me right around the corner from his business.
YA & Sons made such a great match I am over the moon. And you can still see all the wood grain elements in the wood.
Plus he's not too expensive. I had alot of quotes for more than he offered but it wasn't worth paying so much just for 3 doors to get redone.
This guys work saved me and I highly recommend him.
Take a look at the color of my original door on the left by itself. The other 3 doors together on the right was done by YA & Sons.
