Neofuture Tutoring Academy

On my very first SAT lesson at Neofuture, I immediately knew that this academy was different than all of the other prep schools I had gone to before. The lesson was 2 hours long, but I was actively engaged in the lesson the entire time, even after a long and tiresome day at school. Yes, I was learning the SAT once again, but the lesson didnt bore me at all. In fact, I was learning an entirely new approach to tackling the SAT that made me have faith in myself and feel motivated to prepare for the SAT once again. My friends who were also at that lesson also felt the same renewed enthusiasm towards the SAT as me, so we all signed up for the SAT class together!

When I first started doing SAT practices, most prep places often left you to your own devices, and whether you succeeded or not was based on your own ability to spend days doing practice tests and memorizing test answers. In Neofuture, the lessons are personal and design so the topics are broken down rather than trial and error. The classes are always entertaining, and I always learn something new, whether it be how to analyze a sentence or key concepts I should look for when reading. A lot of the class is beneficial for those who don't completely understand the topic or those who need extra help, and now I'm more confident in taking the SAT since I know the strategies behind the questions rather than randomly guessing and based on what I "feel" like the answer is. Their classes aren't SAT only though, as they are able to reinforce and teach concepts that you may be struggling in school with, like AP or honors classes. The school is very friendly and there is also extra help classes for those who want a 1 on 1 lesson if they have question or didn't understand what was taught in class. If you have the time, I encourage you to check them out, as I know you will find something for you and your child.

I went to an SAT prep school last summer, and honestly, my score didnt improve much, the teachers just simply gave practice tests and then went over them. I dont understand why I keep getting the questions wrong. As an immigrant student, Im struggling to fully comprehend the reading passages. The old prep school didnt mention anything about the skill of reading different kinds of passages, so I thought if I memorized more vocab, I can get a better score in English. This was not true because my English score still didnt improve. However, when I came to Neofuture in the first free trial class, I saw a different aspect of the experience. I never thought that I could completely understand the passage without a certain amount of background knowledge. This prep school is different from all the SAT schools I went to because they have unique techniques for learning how to read the SAT passage. By the way, Mr. Lin is so nice and responsible with his students. He is the first SAT teacher I met that will give feedback/communication to my parents, keep on track, and have a parent-teacher conference once in a while. Definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to get a high SAT score or needs help with academics!

Before going to Neofuture Academy, I spent the past 2 summers doing sat prep at another place. My score was stuck despite doing practice tests and going over them in a repetitive cycle every single week. I took the SAT once in December of 2022 before I started taking classes at Neofuture with Dr. Lin, and I was quite disappointed with what I scored. When I came to the free trial class at Neofuture in January of 2023, I just expected that the place would be the same as the previous places Ive been to but I was completely amazed by the end of the lesson. Dr. Lin went over a way to look at the science reading passages that I have never seen before. This made me decide to sign up for classes here as the science reading passages were something I have always struggled to understand in the past but he was able to make everything more clear just through one lesson. I thought that if Dr. Lin was able to show me a completely different way to understand those science passages, he must also have other ways to help me understand other types of passages and sections. My assumption was correct. In March of 2023, I took the SAT again and dramatically improved by 150 points. This was thanks to Dr. Lin and Neofuture Academy because he taught me so many new ways and tricks to look at the different sections on the exam that I have never seen before at any other SAT prep place. I spent so much time at other places trying to improve my SAT score but Neofuture Academy was actually able to help me reach my goal score in just 2 months, which was only half of the lesson plan.

Previously, Id been going to another SAT prep school that I put my faith in to get higher scores. Unfortunately, it did not help increase my score much and I never felt confident when taking any of my mock exams. I figured it was because they make their own questions for their classes unlike any Ive seen in authentic SAT questions. I was taught to cram my reviews and simply do their unauthentic questions for practice. With the misleading advice to do the questions over and over, I took mock exam after mock exam confused and with barely increasing scores. Eventually, I turned to Neofuture in hopes of increasing my SAT score. With my first trial lesson, the information Mr. Lin, our teacher, provided to us is more than plentiful. Mr. Lin prepared many strategies to tackle different SAT questions so that I could develop a better understanding when it comes to answering them, not just to do and redo them impulsively. Authentic questions are also used for practice for optimal understanding. Making sure that we are on track, homework and ample review are prepared after and with each 2-hour class, respectively. Each and every lesson is engaging and thought-provoking, keeping you alert and on task. Although its important to consider that many SAT prep places have their different strategies, I believe that the techniques offered by Neofuture, those of which I have never seen before, resonate with me the best after many cases of trial and error with other prep schools. Overall, I definitely recommend coming to Neofuture not only for the SAT prep lessons, but also the AP class lessons for those interested in boosting up their AP scores :)
