I live in Tennessee and Sufi Ortiz still took the time out of his day to talk about praying mantis over the phone with me. Super nice man and has a great passion for Mantis Kung Fu. If anyone wants to learn true kung fu, this is who I will send anyone to.

Sifu Raul Ortiz of the Ortiz Chinese Boxing Academy is a world-class teacher. Very simply, he is the best of both worlds. He's a famous, traditional kung fu teacher who can turn you into a gold medal winning tournament champion AND he's a street-wise tactical fighter who can teach you how to survive on the street. He's an eighth generation disciple in an unbroken chain of disciples back to the founder of Praying Mantis Kung Fu. I've trained with famous Ju-Jutsu teachers, ninjutsu teachers, and capoeira teachers. They were all amazing. But Ortiz Sifu is simply the best of the best.
