My friend and I decided to check out this restaurant one Friday late afternoon, and while the food was exceptional, the overall experience left much to be desired. Located within walking distance from public transportation, the absence of parking at the front was notable. Instead of a warm welcome, a We Support Israel sign greeted us, setting an unexpected political tone. The lack of a traditional greeting from the waitress, who promptly handed us menus and divided our table, felt impersonal. Nevertheless, the culinary journey began promisingly with a delightful appetizer of hummus with mushrooms, followed by a savory Syrian kebab as the main course. The molten chocolate cake served for dessert was a sweet conclusion to the meal. Accompanying our selections were a ruby red grapefruit cosmopolitan and a fresh fruit margarita, both of which were refreshing. However, the service shortcomings became apparent as we progressed through the evening. The absence of cloth napkins and the provision of only one paper napkin each were disappointing, considering the price paid. Additionally, the need for specificity in ordering, such as requesting ice water with ice, highlighted a lack of attention to detail. Attempting to capture the waitress (Stellas) attention proved challenging, as she was often engrossed in conversations with other staff members or acquaintances. Despite periodic check-ins, the overall level of attentiveness fell short. Upon receiving the bill, we were surprised by an unexpected price increase for the main course, attributed to a post-4 p.m. billing policy. While the waitress kindly adjusted the price, this discrepancy should have been clearly indicated on the menu. In conclusion, despite the restaurants culinary prowess, the overall dining experience was marred by subpar service and unexpected pricing policies. While I would rate the food and drinks highly, I urge the establishment to prioritize improving its service standards to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons. Parking: The place is close to public transportation; there is parking available across the bridge in the shopping area.
