        I opened a one-year, meager 3% CD account. When the maturity date arrived, I withdrew the cash the Hispanic woman had told me would be charged $10.00 for writing a check. I backed away. These two Hispanic women are insatiably hungry. It is too cheap to offer a certificate of deposit with a modest 3% interest and have to remove $10.00 from the interest. I visited Apple Bank, Capital One, and TD Bank in addition to my primary bank. Better. I came to America 1983. My first bank was Ponce Bank. Those days the representative have more class compare to these 2 Hispanic women. No dignity. They stole my $10.00 just for giving me a check. My certificate of deposit from these 3 banks are better than Ponce Bank.

      Ponce Bank was born in The Bronx in 1960, when most banks had abandoned what many perceived to be a community in decline but in which our founders saw nothing but the potential of proud neighborhoods anchored by a strong immigrant work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. They dreamed all that was needed was a financial fuel, and in the 60 years since, we've provided that fuel for this engine of creativity and resilience as we helped develop pockets of this spirit throughout The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and New Jersey. We never landed in comfortable places, choosing to help where help was needed most, and during this time we've become trusted partners throughout the communities we serve.
