Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Queens/Queensboro Bridge

Booked in August and hotel is now closed but they never told us- our reservation still shows as active on the Bonvoy site- leaving us with no place to stay. As a courtesy Marriott refunded us.

Beware! This property is closed for renovations until September 2024. Perhaps not such a bad thing that renovations are being done given the bad comments, but I was not notified that the hotel was closing for renovations, and only found out by chance. There's nothing on their website to suggest it is closed. If you have a reservation, expect an uphill battle to be rebooked as the hotel basically said it's Marriott's problem, and will not rebook reservations elsewhere. Marriott told me it's the hotel's responsibility to relocate guests. Marriott eventually rebooked me, but that was only done after multiple phone calls. So...if you have a reservation between now and September 2024, beware!

It was a horrible place, I can't describe how bad it was, cold water, bad connection, insect problem, plus the hallways had bad smells, they didn't give toilet paper, you talked to the reception and you had to go down a fifth time to have the problem solved, in short, horrible.
