WARNING DON'T GO They have changed their name to Sunnyside Vision but same owner. If they realize you don't know about your insurance they will take advantage of you $$$$ and not care about using your insurance. When I asked the owner (she) why this happened twice she responded "I don't know " and no apologies nothing. Fortunately I got reimbursed by my insurance.

There is one staff member who is just plain rude, and doesnt listen at all to what you have to say. She just wants to make commission and doesnt make the effort to really understand what you need. The doctors are amazing, and the other young woman who helped out was super kind and considerate (she looks younger with black hair) but honestly I wont come back just because of that one woman who was rude the multiple times Ive visited

I came here to obviously get my eyes checked and overall I loved my experience there. I called and made my appointment for the same day which was great. When I arrived it was empty (no patients) and one of the receptionists quickly greeted me, nicely asked me to sanitize my hands and also checked my temperature. This was great especially with COVID. I was seen by the eye technician about 5-8 minutes of my arrival. The technology here is far more advanced than other clinics I've been to. Quickly after that I was seen by Dr. Martinez. Hands down the best eye doctor I've had in my adult life. He's very knowledgeable and asks you the right questions to make sure your prescription is right for you. My appointment overall was about 25 minutes or less, which is great especially in NY. There was a small misunderstanding with one of the receptionist towards the end of my appointment but Dr. Martinez quickly came to defuse the situation. Don't understand why there's 3 receptionists, maybe it for paper work however 2 of them need a attitude adjustment. However the eye technician and the doctor professionalism and work ethic is 5 stars.

I have read pretty much all of the reviews and I realized there arent any recent ones. I went yesterday to help my mom get her frames. From the moment we walked in We were greeted and asked to have our temperatures checked and provided hand sanitizer. I am very very big in service especially because I work in the medical field. The three women who worked there were very very friendly and respectful. Laura who takes care of che king insurances made sure my mom would be covered and offered a visit with the Dr there to make sure the prescription was correct. My mom was good with it to make sure it was correct. I then saw a pair of glasses that I fell in love with and asked if I could see them. They were so nice and attentive that I ended up getting my eyes checked as well and updating my prescription. The girls understood I was there to help my mom and make sure she understood everything from her prescription to her choosing of the frames. They helped her look at frames while the Dr saw me and when I came out we decided. That is the type of service everyone should look for when getting serviced anywhere. The Dr and his assistant were super friendly with amazing manners. I use to go somewhere near by but I think Ill stick to them for my medical eye needs and prescriptions.

Stay away from this business (Sunnyside Vision Center). Learn from my embarrassing and expensive mistake! The workers here use high-pressure tactics and always try to upsell - they are worse than a used car lot. I came to this place to simply get my eyes checked and to get a new prescription for glasses. I was clear from the beginning that I did not plan to purchase the glasses there, that I was just there for an examination and prescription. While waiting to pay for my exam I was shown frames, which I kept refusing. The sales assistant started to list different charges and estimates, which I declined - politely. (And I guess that was my mistake - trying to be polite. They obviously thrive off of people being polite and meek.) Soon a manager stepped in and told the assistant that is not how to calculate various charges (again, I was just waiting to pay for the exam). Refusing to take "no" for an answer the manager kept pushing and pushing, showing me glasses after glasses. She kept up a fast patter, and was tossing around several numbers (both prices and percentages of discounts), confusing me and trying to trick me into thinking what she was offering was an especially good deal. Before I realized it, I was paying for an item I did not like! I even said so! (It should also be noted that English is not my first language so, while I think I have a good grasp on the language, I can get flustered in conversation.) I ended up paying $800 (EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS) for bifocals (not even trifocals), with a frame that looks and feels cheap. I immediately regretted it, so I went back 18 hours later and requested to cancel my order. They told me that they cannot cancel it as it was already placed (after reading up on consumer protection laws in NYS I am not sure that this is correct). They also refused to give me an itemized bill and just told me what the price was for the prescription lenses and frames together (based on the original high-pressure sales pitch I have a rough idea of what they were charging for each). It ends up the price I paid them for the frames (even with their "discount") was approximately 3x (THREE TIMES) more than the same pair online - same brand, same model. (Now I understand that online stores can charge less than a brick-and-mortar store but to be that much cheaper?!). I also realized that the prescription lenses were also extremely overpriced. After doing more research (I know, I should have done it before and not after) I discovered that If I had gone to any other place I would have paid less - usually significantly so - than I did at this place. I don't know if this falls under the legal definition of fraud, but the confusing, high-pressure tactics, plus their refusal to cancel the order or give me an itemized bill, make me feel like I was defrauded - and I feel so stupid that they got me. I have to remember that dishonest places like this business flourish by manipulating people and identifying passive people like myself. I cannot let them get away with this - and so I am warning whoever is reading this. I am considering my legal options - both to recoup my money and to register a complaint with a consumer protection agency (possibly the NYS Attorney General's office). In the meantime, I am stuck with my expensive, but very cheap-looking and cheap-feeling, glasses. Don't go to this place!!
