Northwell Health Outpatient Mental Health

This is not a review for Dr. Ritterband but for the office bureaucracy. Dr Ritterband is fantastic. One week i came to my apartment going out of my way to make it during lunch hour was told Dr had emergency and is not coming or it might take hours. Nobody called to verify if I have time. 2nd visit I had my insurance reactivated recently and it wa snot showing as active in the system but I showed my insurance active in my portal. I was denied a visit although I have been seeing Dr. Ritterband for almost 20 years. A little courtesy goes a long way sometimes Northwell. Very dissapointed after running around all day and moving everything to make it to my apartment this happens. I'm not sure if I want to return to this practice because of this. Before having patients come in please call their insurance and confirm. A bit extra service could go a long way.

After seeing my doctor for 20 years, practice refused to see me bc my insurance was showing inactive. I showed the manager that it is active and it just takes a while to show up. Was not given a chance to see my doctor for a routine visit. What a shame, after 20 years you would expect that office can bill insurance the next day or submit on your behalf. After doing everything to make it to my appointment it was all for nothing. FYI my insurance is fully working with active date going 3 weeks before my actual appointment. Very disappointed in this practice, and I rarely write negative reviews check my status.

I'm extremely disappointed with Northwell Health. It is virtually impossible to make contact with my surgeon (John A Seedor), via either the office phone number (no option for calls from patients) or on the Northwell website (no option for composing an email to Seedor's office). Terrible. I needed to contact Seedor for clarification of my post-surgery medications (different forms advised different dosages). Save yourself a boatload of aggravation and wasted time and find a physician associated with a different medical group. Northwell Health is not geared for customer service.

We recently took my son (12 year old) for a fractured forearm, doctor's assistant and Dr. Rabanovich were very kind and supportive with the whole process. Doctor's assistant was helpful with the appointments (as it needed to be after school hours)
