image The food was bland and plain horrible. The long wait time was not worth it. The social media advertising is misleading. Food potions is small and price is outrageous. Staff is unfriendly and disrespectful and have no training. One of the staff snatched an drink due to mistake on their part and still charged us get that drink. This place is definitely not worth the hype or the food. Go elsewhere!

image This place had amazing decoration. The line was really long because of the opening and the staff were alright. However, the desserts and drinks were terrible because of the watered down desserts and drinks. The service was really slow. There are better places in Chinatown than this cafe to spend the time and money on. At the end, the few items summed up to overpriced and unorganized service. I wouldnt recommend this place regardless of the social media hype.

image Its not even worth the hype. Good thing didnt have to wait 2 hours. Not even worth it. Got AAA strip sirloin steak with the pepper sauce and when it came out, it was not sizzling as expected. The steak was ok, but as you can see, the noodles are covered in so pepper. It makes you feel like your just eating pepper each bite. The steak came with a drink, we got the milk tea and it was so watered down. No milk flavor. Its not like traditional Hong Kong style milk tea thats silky smooth. We also got the ovaltine condense milk French toast and it was harder than toast you get from Trader Joes. Its so dry, and doesnt absorb any of the ovaltine flavor. The toast isnt even fluffy and just taste like bread lightly dipped in milk. We also go the deep fried chicken wings with honey mustard sauce. It taste like school lunch, not juice either.

image Had a wonderful time at Mabu. I know theres a lot of complaints about the wait but I didnt have to wait at all on a Saturday so maybe we got lucky. Since we had a big group of people we were able to try a lot of the menu.
My favorite items here are probably the HK style street snacks - curry fishball, curry squid, cheese fries (not traditional but this was so good), and the HK style milk tea ( its pricey but you get SO MUCH its totally worth it).
We also tried some of the noodle dishes like the baked spaghetti, baked bread bowl, Tom yum instant noodles, eel rice and they were all very delicious as well. The Tom yum noodle was a super fun dish since its like the noodles are spilling out of the cup. Baked spaghetti was a classic and came with a super juicy pork chop.
We also tried the chicken hot pot and it was shockingly good. It didnt have the strong herbally taste I dislike, so I found this to be more mild and a lot more agreeable for my palette.
Finally of course we had a few of the desserts as well. We tried the pineapple butter bun (nice fat slab of butter), the mango sago (soooo delicious and sells out early according to the workers) and the taro and the ovaltine French toast. The French toast filling was a little more watery than I expected and I prefer if it was a thicker consistency. However it is very aesthetic to look at and fun to take videos of. I did not get to try the salted egg yolk as we were too full so the next time I come back thats on my to do list.
Over all I think this is a great place to eat with friends. The decor is amazing and really shows off HK culture. Being here made me remember when I was younger visiting my family in HK.
