Kimpton Hotel Theta

I recently stayed at the theta during a 6 day trip to New York. The hotel was lovely, very modern and a great location, very central to all the main attractions which was great! I especially enjoyed social hour where free wine is provided for between 5-6. The beds were unbelievably comfortable like sleeping on a cloud and rooms were lovely, come back every evening to everything being reset and immaculate. Staff and maids were also friendly and professional. All round had a great stay and would definetely chose to stay at this hotel on my next visit to NYC Rooms: Rooms were reset every day with fresh towels and bedding reset which was lovely to come back to each evening after being out all day exploring Walkability: Very close and central to the main tourist attractions- particularly Times Square

The service was very nice until the end they add more things that we didnt buy and charge double when we try to say to them they say you have the option the use it but I didnt I said and the just say to me go a way Mc

Perfect location to theater district, Times Square and subway. Room was great. Nice and helpful staff

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights this spring. Terribly disappointing to say the least. The staff at the front desk are very unfriendly. The room was just okay. But the really disappointing thing was what happened after I checked out. I checked out in person at the front desk. No mention of any charges, or anything. I was just told I was all set. A week later I see a $575 charge I wasnt expecting to my credit card from the hotel. It took me an hour to finally get in touch with someone at the hotel to be told I was charged a smoking fee because the smoking sensor in my room was triggered the day I checked out. First, I do not smoke or vape! There is no possible way this happened while I occupied the room. Second, why was this not addressed with me when I checked out in person?! Third, why was I not contacted by phone or email before this was charged to my card. Complete scam to try to make money, hoping unsuspecting guests won't notice the charge. When I disputed this with the hotel, the hotel manager was rude and dismissive and would not remove the charge. I have disputed it with my bank and hopefully get resolved that way because there is no possible way I should be responsible for this charge!! I would not be surprised if they have staff walking into rooms with cigarettes to set it off so they can charge you. What a joke! I frequent NYC, as my daughter is in school there. And I will stay as far away from this hotel as possible in the future and warn everyone I know not to stay here.
