STATE Grill and Bar

We were so impressed with our dining experience at STATE! Our food was so delicious, I loved every bite! We ordered the fried calamari and salad to start and I loved their take on the calamari, the coating was different but so good! I had a burger and my husband had a steak and we both loved our dinner and we loved how piping hot our food was upon serving. We heard the table next to us rave about the brussel sprouts so we ordered them, and equally incredible. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about wine pairing and my husband was very happy with his choice. We told our waiter that we had just found out the gender of our baby right before coming to dine and the wonderful manager surprised us with two beautiful desserts to celebrate that absolutely made me cry of happiness. It is just the little things that make restaurants so special and that to us was such a big thing. We will absolutely return and bring friends and family because this experience was above and beyond what you typically get at Manhattan restaurants. #State Grill & Bar is located on street level of Iconic #EmpireStateBuilding: destination for locals & global tourists. A festive atmosphere greeted me filled with visitors celebrating spring break. Ive always loved this cozy bar overlooking an open kitchen filled with aromas of the farm to table delights. Bar hopping is comfortable: visiting with guests, comparing cocktail choices & bar bites: calamari, chicken, shrimp.. Dinner @ my favorite booth never disappoints: people watching passerbys. #States diningroom emotes celebration of Spring, Easter, Rebirth, New, Hope! My piece de resistance: Matts table side presentation: old fashioned banana split ala ALL the fixings! In celebration of ALL holidays being celebrated this weekend! Overall the best experience we had in NYC. Best swordfish Ive ever had. Drinks were on point. Service was top notch. Definite must have in NYC.

By far the best meal weve had in New York. Fast friendly service doesnt hurt either. 10/10 recommend.
