The canoe/kayak launch was non-functioning over 3 years ago when I first wrote about it. Gate was locked and still is. Parks had it in their capital plan to fix it and then responsibility was given to EDC. Still nothing and if its ever fixed, it could be a convenient stopping place for kayakers if anything useful replaces Fairway . Trying to put a kayak through the gate you'll be blocking the bike and pedestrian path and you will make many people hate you. The area is great location for seeing wild oysters and ribbed mussels at low low tides.
