Hi Amy, Just want to pass a hearty 'thank you' along to you and the entire staff. Mom and Dad's time at Acacia became a wonderful 'home' for the past 10 years or so. I still remember Dad's resistance to coming which softened when he met another Marine on our tour. Everyone needs a friend, and Acacia makes that possible for many. It wasn't long before they developed many friends and felt at home. Dealing with the aging process, and the incremental steps of losing independence was always tempered by the graciousness of the staff. A host of names come to mind, but I'm sure I would forget someone if I listed them. Waiters, waitresses, cooks, cleaners, maintenance workers, grounds keepers, activity folks, office workers and administrative staff.... all contributing to the healthy atmosphere at Acacia. Thank you also for the professionalism that exists at Acacia. There are so many uniquely skilled individuals who make the Neighborhoods what they are. When visiting, one quality that has always stood out to me is the friendliness that staff shows to residents. You always help residents feel valued because you take time to listen and be a friend. And being able to have family reunion parties here has been wonderful. Thanks again for your friendship, Jim Dever and Family

My parents were residents of The Neighborhoods at Acacia Village for almost six years. They thoroughly enjoyed the friendships they made with the wonderful residents and staff. Both my parents enjoyed walking on the paved trails throughout the 80 acre campus. And when the weather was inclement, they walked the hallways to get their steps in. Dad loved that his days of shoveling snow and mowing the lawn were over. Mom loved that she didnt have to cook dinner, or any other meal if she didnt want to. Theres a heated indoor pool, a fitness center, a salon, library, fitness activities, and woodworking to name a few of the onsite amenities. Sponsored outings include Vernon Downs, local sport events (hockey and baseball), and concerts. There are excellent medical facilities in the Utica area along with shopping opportunities, good restaurants, and grocery stores. Amtrak has a station in Utica and there are airports in Syracuse (1 hour) and Albany (90 minutes). You will quickly learn; however, that the best thing about The Neighborhoods at Acacia Village is the people!
