AMF Star Lanes - Asheville

Saturday night=date night! My husband and I got a Groupon to go bowling and decided to sit at the bar while we waited for a lane to open up. Ms. Debbie the bartender gave us laughs, smiles and a lasting impression. From talking about our love for Prince to taking a selfie with us Ms. Debbie was beyond amazing! She worked the bar and always came back to finish our conversation. After bowling, Shawn and Ian informed us that the company doesnt take Groupons after 6 pm on Saturdays. But because we informed Shawn we had one when we first came in, Ian told us he would take care of everything. Debbie, Shawn and Ian were all a blessing to us, we will definitely be going back the next time we visit Asheville because that was excellent customer service and an experience you cant find anywhere else.

I cannot wait to go visit this place again and enjoy some bowling again. Very nice set-up, staff were very nice and helpful. Food was delicious Definitely going to be bowling here often !

Well I gave it 3 stars but that is only because of the fact I didnt pay full price I had a Groupon. Had I paid full price for the experience I would be rating it a 1 Star. This bowling alley is in desperate need of updating. First, lets talk about the tables. Most bowling alleys have the same exact table with four chairs attached to it that slide in and out on their own on a little swivel device. The tables are also set up staggered one in front one in back, allowing the tables to actually be used. The tables here were straight in the line, and if someone was sitting on the right side of the table, it would be impossible to use the left side of the table next to it. There was just way too many tables pushed way too close together, and not staggered. Next was the ball return machine. Every bowling alley. Ive been to uses the same exact ball return machine. When the ball popped out of the hole it either goes on the left or right side of the machine. These ball return machines had a center strip, as well as a left and right side strip. As the balls came out, they were unable to either fall on the left or right side without assistance from a human. If no one was there to move the balls, eventually it will just back up into the return shoot Next were the bumpers. The bumpers at this bowling alley had to be set manually. Every bowling alley. Ive been to the bumpers, move up and down automatically. That way they pop up when the person who needs the bumpers is bowling and then go back down for everyone else. Not an option here, bumpers were either up for everyone or down for everyone. Lastly, there was the computer screens. We could not figure out how to put the names into the computer. We finally went up to the front desk, and the guy was very nice and quickly put our names in for us. The employee did mention yes, these are really stupid computers that are hard to use. Again, the only reason I gave it three stars, and not one was because it was extremely cheap compared to other bowling alleys. I feel like I got exactly what I paid for but wouldve felt totally ripped off had I paid full price.

Love this place ! Great for teens and adults. Wonderful customer service as well
