I lived in many places, but this apartment is one of my favorite. Quiet, clean, fancy, nice neighbors. Highly recommended. And it is SAFE.

We were excited to move here from Durham but the experience for the last 2 months has been very disappointing. - No water pressure - Poor build quality - we are on the 1st floor and it sounds like a herd of wooden shoe dancers live upstairs. Can hear them flushing their toilets. - Area is high crime - several other tenants have reported car break-ins and we just had 2 cars stolen in one night. And they have no security cameras. - The police are there quite a bit If you're looking for a safe, quite place to live, don't look here.

Pros: Ample space, Open concept, his and hers sinks, decent quality, logical floorplan, plenty of closets and storage space, good water pressure in bathrooms, I don't often hear my neighbors from within, convenient location Cons: Extra charge for washer/dryer with no option to use the ones we already own. They make you pay for cable. The apartments are wired for ethernet but due to their community Wi-Fi none of them work. If any issues occur with the electricity, it sets off an alarm outside that won't stop until someone hits the silence button. Please disable this alarm!!!!! Water in kitchen sink takes forever to get hot. The windows do not block much noise from outside I have to pay to store my washer and dryer somewhere No on-site storage or garages price is higher than similar apartments nearby The whole island in the kitchen will shake when walking by it Side notes: People say its a crime ridden area and the police show up often. I have personally never seen the police here and I've lived here for 6 months. This was the only place with availability at the time when I was looking, and needed to get a place to live as I was moving from a different area of NC. This apartment is for people who make good money and don't already have a washer and dryer. If you work from home and need ethernet you have to pay extra for a separate spectrum account.

The monthly rent starts at $1270 for a ONE BEDROOM and there is absolutely NO SECURITY, the cameras that they have are bogus and only focuses on one portion of the complex. Ring cameras cost about $64 to install and I'm sure being that it is an apartment complex they could get a bulk order at a discounted rate. Please be mindful of this before choosing to move to Grand Oaks. The office staff are also very rude. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND.

Grand Oaks had the best management when I first got here in May 2022, yet they have new employees in the office that I have not been too fond of. As a third shift worker, most people usually sleep during the day if they work during the night. I have lived in an apartment since college so I can understand the noises that come from them, especially college apartments. Being mindful that it is during the day and not during quiet hours I deal with all the noise. Yet, today I have had a problem with a lot of running above me. I timed it from when it started and it still continues. It has gone on for over 2 hours. I finally call the complex to see what could be done and they said they would try and get ahold of them and let them know to just be a little mindful of others around (which I appreciated). Yet, it continued 20 minutes later and I call one more time because at this point it is scarring my dog. The same woman answers (Morgan) and begins with an attitude that she was just about to call and that there really is nothing she can do and that I should be mindful because its not quiet hours. The last person we had in the front office was much more understanding and went out of her way to help all of her tenants (not just the ones that get the luxury of sleeping at night instead of during the day). I believe running on the floor for hours on end is not the matters of a quiet time but Im sure there are rules within the contract signed coming into this apartment complex to be mindful of the neighbors. Yet, since it is not quiet hours theres nothing to be done (interesting). Its not a rule to not run, its common courtesy. I will not be living here anymore once my lease is up.
