We have had several false alarms in the midst of putting in a fire monitoring system. We do not take this lightly as we have had a house fire in the past. The gentlemen from this fire department that have arrived at our house have been very respectful and kind. As per their protocol, they still came to the house even when the monitoring company advisesd it was a false alarm. They have arrived in a timely manner with each of these false alarms. It makes me feel safe knowing that in a true emergency they would arrive quickly as well.

I had to stop at this volunteer fire department that has newly been finished and there were 2 young guys (looked in their 20's) inside just standing around talking. I asked them if either one had a jack that I could use so my husband could change the flat tire on our car - yes I know, you should have one in your own car. The blonde headed guy looked back at the other one asking if they had one and he said they "didn't do that". I didn't ask him to change the tire, just to see if they had a jack we could possibly use. For volunteer firemen, who are generally the first to assist at an accident in rural areas (and this substation is in a rural area) I am not too convinced these 2 would want to do anything. I'm not going to play the race card here, but somehow I do have a feeling it's seriously leaning that way. I honestly wouldn't trust either one of the guys that were there to come and help if they ever got the call. Maybe go back for a little more training on how to be a community player when someone stops and asks for help. I don't think one star is good enough for this substation 21, but I couldn't give a half star.
