Wait time is too long when they take you to the back. I waited for 50 minutes and I decided to leave without seeing the doctor.

As a patient at Emerge Ortho, in Burlington, I would NOT recommend this facility. I've never been more disappointed in my care. Providers seem incapable of effectively communicating, among themselves or with patients. The therapists, however, seem fantastic. After my appointment with Scott-PA left me devastated about a lifelong prognosis without a clear explanation, I sought a 2nd opinion. A life altering, progressive disorder left me wondering why a doc could not see & treat me more immediately (proven effective), or refer me to one who could. Instead, I waited many weeks to see Julie Breen-NPR, whom I do not believe treated me effectively. My condition greatly worsened. She failed to order a procedure despite multiple messages from myself & the Durham office (which seems to always be running behind), so I waited several weeks more for the procedure. It has been proven to decrease symptoms and increase the probability of remission, when implemented quickly and in series. After calling to complain, an appointment was made for me without notice or explanation, to be seen by two providers. I was unavailable during that time. Later, I learned from a third party that this appointment was made to discuss short-term disability. Had I known, I would have made myself available. Instead, I continue to be out of work and without pay. I have seen several providers for my injury/condition. Soon, I will see another because my PCP believes the current regimen of treatment is not satisfactory. Mind you, I did not say a word to him about my complaints of current treatment. Julie Breen admitted to me that she has no idea who I need to be referred to, because she's never had a patient request short-term disability and return to work accommodation forms such as mine. I will see a new provider soon, whom I hope is more capable to treat my disorder. I believe the provider that writes you out of work provides necessary paperwork for short-term disability. She refused to provide a simple note, to my knowledge, stating why she wrote me out of work until the time of my procedures. So, I have been out of work for ~3 months and without pay. I hope my review motivates healthcare workers to consider the needs & concerns of their patients & take their own notes into consideration when treating patients. Julie Breen had no idea that she had already increased my medication to the maximum recommended dosage when I last saw her, and she recommended I increase the dosage. I am exhausted and I wish I could just return to my normal life. Best wishes.
