Beautiful dresses and I was so excited to support a local business, but brides please dont buy your dress here and save yourself the distress as this is BY FAR the worst company / individual I worked with for my wedding. Im so glad I took my dress elsewhere after it came in so they couldnt ruin my experience further. They charged me twice for my veil, gaslit me into believing that my phone wasnt working for a complete change of time + location for my preferred seamstress fitting, then called me verbatim a terrible person. I have receipts from square on my CC showing the veil charged twice as well as data logs pulled from Verizon from when I was supposedly getting texts regarding my fitting appointment, and an audio recording of my conversation with Gineen. when I asked her to send me a text again it magically went through after my appointment time had passed and also reflects on the Verizon logs

I had a great experience here! Both consultants I worked with were very knowledgeable and worked together well to help me find the perfect gown and try on styles I hadnt considered. I found the perfect dress for me!

I read the reviews and decided to go anyway. And it was awesome. The one on one attention and gown selection was great. This was my first time trying on gowns and I emailed a few dresses I wanted to try. I was all over the place but she helped with a smile. I was stuck on one dress from the beginning. She suggested other styles just to make sure I was still in love with number 1. The best part was there was no pressure. I went on a Monday and she set an appointment for the following Friday for a dress retry before I bought it. Needless to say, I got it and I still love it. I would 100% recommend this shop

I had a great experience! My attendant was amazing and very attentive to my preferences and make great suggestions for customization of my gown. The atmosphere was great and the bridal shop was very accommodating when I added an additional person to my appointment last minute.

Update: I do not recommend this shop to any bride. My experience after making a purchase was starkly different than the fitting. I experienced the unprofessional & rude behavior other reviews describe from the shop owner. I found her expertise to be questionable, her practices to be unreliable, as she was not only dishonest with me about my orders on several occasions, but brash and insulting. I wont soon forget the end result of my experiences. Again, I DO NOT recommend. Original review: I wont soon forget the lovely experience I had shopping for my bridal gown at Gavin Christianson! The shop is situated in Downtown Durham and has an elegant-industrial vibe. The selection of dresses for a plus size bride seemed endless. I have been to other shops with such limited styles for plus brides, this shop was so refreshing in the fact that every style I wanted to try, I was able to. Gineen pulled out all the stops for my and my guests during our VIP consultation. She was super attentive to my likes and dislikes, even down to the type of champagne I enjoy. She was able to pick up on my style so well that I ended up falling in love with the dress she picked out for me. Im SO happy that I was able to say yes to the dress at Gavin Christianson Bridal!
