As a mother navigating the challenges of childbirth, I was fortunate to have enlisted the services of Joanne Dahill. Joanne was an essential and incredible presence at our birth. Through various stages of the birth and through complications that unfolded, Joanne's physical and emotional support were extraordinary. She helped me tremendously through the pain, advocated for me to the hospital staff when it was needed, and was a watchful material figure during my times of rest. She helped me through critical decision points and kept an eye on important developments that weren't the focus of the medical staff. Through her support I was able to navigate through the complications and have a successful vaginal birth. In the days that followed the birth, Joanne did two home visits in which she gave me a massage (so necessary) and also taught me how to provide infant massage to my newborn, which became a beautiful daily routine that I could feel confident was helping my baby develop, while it gave me great joy. I can't recommend Joanne's doula services strongly enough.

Joanna was an integral part of me having the birth I wanted. Not only did she support me, she also empowered my husband in his role. We are so grateful that Joanne was there before, during, and after with confident care and support.

Joanne supported me with massage & body work during my pregnancy when I found out my baby was in the breech position. She is so knowledgeable & helped to give me so many ideas & suggestions. I felt very calmed by her spirit. She was so kind after my baby came, as well, coming to check on us!

When I think back about my birthing experience, I am eternally grateful that Joanne was by my side as my doula. Before the big day, Joanne met with me and my partner to help us prepare, answer many of our questions, and shared resources for me to read and learn on my own time. Her skills as a massage therapist were invaluable. The prenatal massage was exactly what my body needed and the spinning baby techniques provided desperately needed relief during those final weeks when the hip pain really begins to kick in. I don't even know where to begin with the day-of support. I had a long labor and Joanne was with me through it all, she was able to reprieve my partner so he could get some sleep, and helped walk me through all of the unexpected decisions that inevitably come during labor. Her advice on poses, the TENS unit, and other tools and tips made all of the difference as I elected to not use pain medication. She was supportive of the personal decisions I made that were important to me about my birthing experience, and I couldn't recommend Joanne more - she's exactly the type of nurturing and knowledgeable person you need by your side!
