I almost walked out mid appt - truly unbelievable. I went in for a routine appt and pap. The nurse asked if i had any other concerns while i was there. I did. They were as follows: pinkeye, poor digestion, and i wanted my thyroid checked. When the doctor came in she said she didnt have time for all of this. I thought she was kidding - she wasnt. She recommend tums and a stool softener (groundbreaking!!) , i had to convince her to write me a script for my eyes, and she checked my thyroid with by patting my neck with her hands. I left in shock and wont be returning.

I have been a patient for 4 years and never had to go for any emergency situations until this past month. I was recently seen for knee pain. I was given an X-Ray and scheduled for an MRI. The scheduling department was phenomenal, Elizabeth City hospital could not see me for a whole month and when I told them I was fine going to VA for the earliest appointment they had me scheduled for the next week. The results from both the MRI and X-Ray I was told it was just arthritis and to deal with it until it go worse and I needed knee replacement. I knew that this was not correct because the results were in my mychart and I had read the results as well which included little arthritis and knew I needed to go to Ortho. I had to ask for a referral for ortho and once ortho had my MRI and X-Ray they wanted me to come in immediately, like 2 days. I went from being told to just deal with it until it gets worse to having to have 2 knee surgeries. I have since switched my PCP, if you have to rely on the doctor to tell you what is going on please do not go here.
