Colony Village

The absolute worst place to live in New Bern! I lived in this apartment complex(apartment 3173) with my significant other at the time and there were a million and one maintenance problems constantly ( from the air conditioning unit being broken , having rats in the townhouse that traveled from unit to unit, having really old appliances that did not work, and so much more). The maintenance man is a really old man that drives around in a golf cart smoking cigarettes all day instead of fixing the buildings issues. He would come WEEKS after the maintenance report was put in and Assess the problem. He never had a solution. The office staff is very rude, very unhonest, very unprofessional, and very unintelligent. The woman in the office is very unsure of how to manage an apartment complex. The marine that I was involved with at the time put his hands on me constantly and when I notified the police about the situation(s) , they pressed charges and came to arrest him( I had several pictures of bruises, a 911 call, and an audio recording of him admitting to beating the blood out of me). She was only concerned about how the situation would look to potential tenants and the current tenants that lived out there. I had to get a court order and a couple of police officers to assist me with getting my belongings out of that apartment, as I did not want to risk going back there after he got out of jail. She was very much not fond of that, as it drew a lot of attention. She even drove by in a truck with a Mexican and told me I had to hurry up and get my stuff out of the way and out of the other tenants way , although I was in no ones way at any point in time. She also asked if the guy I was dealing with was in the house because she did not want me there if he was not, although she originally let me into the house after he called from jail to have the locks changed while I was at work. All she and the Mexican man saw was a marine and they instantly treated me like I was absolute worst human being on the face of this earth. Very unpleasant and disgusting behavior from those two! My whole experience with colony village was an absolute disaster and and absolute mess. I lived at colony village from May 2022-September 2023.

This place is terrible, between the water being shut off for 24+ hours at a time. To the dryers at both laundry rooms not drying clothes at all and have been that way for months now. We pay $1200 a month to be left without basic necessities. Step your game up or drop your outrageous rent for this dump. Absolutely cannot wait to move out.

Colony Village made my move-in experience a breeze! The leasing consultant Hope was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly sweet and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcomed and settled into my new home smoothly. I can't recommend Colony Village enough for their exceptional service and attention to detail. HOPE IS AMAZING! She deserves a raise for her kindness, her work ethic. She made the application and touring experience beyond amazing. She made the hopes of getting a home a REALITY! She has been so sweet and patient as well and communicative within the approval process. (I definitely annoyed with my voicemails and emails) but she has been so reassuring and cooperative. Im so excited to have the opportunity of living here. Regardless of what some reviews read the SERVICE and loyalty to their clientele blow any negative out of the water! Im grateful and so happy I chose Colony Village. The apartments are clean, beautiful and the people Ive come across in the area are SO SWEET. Many places have pros and some have more cons but Im proud and happy to say this place is pretty dang awesome. PS GIVE HOPE A RAISE!
