Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park

Wilson has really made strides in developing the area. My wife and i first visited this park sum 7 years ago. It has totally transformed. There are some cool resraurants.

This is a pla e to visit. Kids would sooo love it.

Enjoyed watching the whirligigs. Nice area for a family picnic. Gross restrooms that were not good for parents of young children. Playground: There is an open field in the park that can be played in, but no playground equipment. Restrooms: There are men's women's, and a unisex wheelchair accessible restroom in a trailer style portapotty. The women's bathrooms were in desperate need of cleaning and full of cigarette butts, and dirty used toilet paper. One of the sinks was full of brown residue. No changing table in women's room. Sinks were too tall for small children and required you to hold the tap on with one hand to wash the other, which is the grossest kind of sink. Stalls were incredibly small, so if you have small kids they can't fit in with you. I'd look for restrooms at a nearby business instead. Picnic area: Wide open grass field for blanket style picnics, as well as shaded and unshaded benches
