Did a thorough job cleaning my carpets and couches, smelled and looked great! They guys took their time and werent in a rush which meant a lot! It means they cared about getting my stuff clean!

Servicemaster showed up quickly to look at my situation. My sump pump had quit during the night after a flash thaw. I had water back up around the exterior walls in my basement. Carpet was wet and sheet rock had to be cut approx. 6 inches above the floor on all exterior walls, and insulation removed. I gave them the job and requested an estimate at that time. To make along story short, they did the job and never provided an estimate at any time. I asked several times again for an estimate with no response from the owner, Scott. This was in October. After they had removed their equipment in November I asked for a bill, finally in December I received a bill for close to 3 thousand dollars. These guys spent one full day removing sheetrock, baseboards and insulation. The rest of the time they moved fans and tested for moisture.. The bill showed over 2 thousand dollars for moving fans, rental of their fans and dehumidifiers and moisture checking. At no time did they discuss the cost of their services or an estimate. I do not make it a habit of giving people a blank check for services. Totally ridiculous way to do business. They also said they would clean the carpets upon completion as all of my rooms were carpet. I was just notified that this was not included and their would be an additional charge.

They are efficient, thorough, and very accommodating. Scott is especially willing to make it for emergency clean ups!

Lesson Learned... I recently had a interesting experience with Service Master Devils Lake. For a 1850Sqft home, all one level, 3 bed, 2 bath house and was fairly clean prior, I was charged $943.50 for cleaning. I moved across the state and the house was completely empty. The bill was split: $366 for carpet (708sqft) and $577.50 for cleaning of hardwood floors, windows, bathrooms and cupboards. Two cleaners at $57/per hour. The new owners said the house was very clean and Service Master did a really nice job, I guess I wasn't expecting to pay nearly $1000 for the service. The very nice lady that answered the phone said she knocked two hours off of the bill due to carpet cleaning charge. Had she not have done that, the bill would have been over $1000. This price is outrageous thus I learned a very valuable and expensive lesson.
