Devils Lake Sportsmans Lodge

Sportsman Lodge is exactly as advertised. I did not fish with them and only stayed at the motel. The owners were accommodating to my very late night arrival and communicated well during my stay. It is a basic motel room at an extremely affordable rate. Yes, it is slightly dated but it's a place to stay for fishing/hunting. If you're looking for luxury, there are plenty of options in Devils Lake for 2-5x the price. The location was perfect, the on-site fish cleaning station was great, and you can essentially pull your vehicle right up to your door which was convenient for loading/unloading gear. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a group of 4 of us show up one afternoon and we were planning on fishing the next 3 days. We were told to meet him at the landing at 7:30, and he came off the lake at 7:50. The fishing was good early morning and evening. He did tell us he would come out at 5:30. We did not think this meant to be packed up. The fishing was exceptional and we asked to stay and he said no, you have to get out. Once we were back, he told us the times he planned on taking us out. We thought it was unreasonable, especially with the fish biting good at that time. We were about to head out to eat, with one member of our group going and talking to him. (I am unsure of the words that were exchanged) While we were out to eat, we received a text saying he would no longer take us out and that check out was 11:00. The service was absolutely horrible! I would never suggest this place to anyone.

The hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was really nice and friendly and helpful when we were out fishing to move us around and keep us on the best bite they could. Very happy with my experience and would recommend them to anyone.

Had a great time fishing on Devils Lake in North Dakota. We stayed at Devils Lake Sportsman's Lodge and fished out in there heated fish houses. The weather was brutal outside and it made for a tough bite but we did manage to get some nice fish with the help of Finatik Baits. Definitely recommend staying with Kevin and Rika, they were very friendly and accommodating givin the weather conditions. We came prepared for the weather and knowing that the bite would be tough and did not expect to catch tons of fish. Even when it was -20 and wind blowing 30mph making the windchill almost -50 with blizzard conditions the houses were warm and comfortable.

Not enough good things to say about the lodge and fishing guide service. Rooms clean and spacious. Ice houses clean and properly maintained. Service beyond friendly. Fish cleaning room spacious and well set up. Kevin was great at communicating where we needed to be and when. He tried to keep us on the fish. Kevin and Rika went above and beyond to take care of us and I saw the same treatment with all the other customers fishing and at the hotel. They truly care about their business. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt! Kevin and Rikas up most priority is with your safety in mind. Use common sense and remember this is what they do for a living. Even for us, avid ice fishermen, weve never used an ice house, rattle reels , or ice fished Devils lake, we knew we needed to listen to what they were saying. We had an amazing time and hope to return!
