I have lived at Danbury for 5 years and was the first resident. I picked a two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the first floor with a full kitchen so I can still cook if I wish. When I picked Danbury for me closet space was the most important and my apartment has 4 closets. There is a walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a hallway linen/coat closet, a double door closet in the guest bedroom and a 4x10 ft storage unit attached to my patio. I really enjoy having housekeeping and laundry and have become close with Yolanda the nurse and made so many friends. My favorite activity at Danbury is the exercise classes. I also use the fitness room on my own. The staff is a 10/10. We are looking for fabric and craft donations so we can continue to make cloths and dresses to donate to my church.

My mother moved to Danbury in Broadview Heights in late March after a frustrating stay in a local rehabilitation facility following a short hospitalization. Initially, Mom saw her stay at Danbury as a temporary move designed to help her get better so she could return to her home. She was understandably impatient to regain her independence. In just a little over a month at Danbury, I've witnessed an incredible transformation in my mother. She feels better, looks better, and moves around better. Danbury has helped restore her physical and emotional health and, more importantly, her personal and interpersonal confidence. Visiting with her is a real joy for us. She is filled with stories about her new friends, the caring Danbury staff, the great meals, and the many activities offered. My brothers and I are thrilled when we call Mom and she tells us she needs to call us back because she is visiting with her friends or heading to an activity. She is living life more fully! Mom now sees Danbury not just as a facility to get better but a home that is better in all ways: physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, nutritionally, and more--in a conveniently located, financially affordable, and safe community. She is happy at Danbury because she enjoys the independence she values so much. At Danbury she has realized that being independent does not have to mean being alone. That's a life lesson that I'm learning from her positive experience. From my very first call and visit to Danbury, Melissa Todd has been a godsend in helping Mom and all of us navigate this new and often complicated phase of her life. Melissa compassionately listens to my mother, reflects her concerns, and proposes solutions that empower her as a decision-maker. Melissa knows just how to provide the right information at the right time and in the right way. Through personal visits, emails, calls, and texts, she patiently and expertly accompanies Mom and all of us with care and candor. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done. As my Mom told me the other day, "If you guys had forced me to live here, I would have fought you every step of the way. But I'm choosing to live here, and I hope to stay as long as I can. I'm happy here." Amen! --Joseph Waler

In October I will have lived at Danbury for 3 years! I remember move in day like it was yesterday and it was memorable because the movers did everything and made it so easy - they even put my clothes away. I love my one-bedroom apartment and my balcony. Someone asked me who my favorite person was and I said all of them but I really enjoy talking to Shannon, Angela and Angelique. Elizabeth in activities is very imaginative and comes up with so many fun programs. The people who work here are the friendliest people I have ever met. I give Danbury a perfect 10/10!

After looking at several senior communities in Ohio and California, we noticed the difference at Danbury immediately. Melissa Todd was our point of contact and gave us a great first impression that put my entire family at ease. We soon discovered that the positive vibes went far beyond the surface. The entire staff is responsive, caring and kind. From Nursing, to the Activities Department to Environmental Services, this community is staffed with angels. They turned what could have been a challenging move into pleasant, upbeat experience. The staff meets residents where they are and provides tailor made care. The apartments are spacious with great light. The food is top notch and my parents are already making new friends. We are extremely grateful to have found this place and feel like Mom and Dad are in great hands.
