Everything But The House (EBTH)

In my haste to move, I had everything, but the house come to my home. Because I was further away than their warehouse, they charged me a hefty amount to move my items, but assured me I would make it up and then some with everything they would be selling for me. There were a few items they got me a good price, but on most of the pieces especially furniture, they virtually got me nothing. They made promises of being sure to group sets together such as bedroom sets, dining room sets and living room sets but they sold each one individually. Even though I complained about this, they assured me this was the best way to sell it and ended up selling beautiful furniture for less than $30 each which, by their standards paid me nothing . I would strongly recommend before you consider selling your home possessions to everything but the house, you try to sell them on your own. Youll make a lot more money that way. They did pay promptly and did a good job where your items were at for sales. For that reason, I gave them a 2. Because of broken promises and poor handling of the sales I gave them a much lower rating. Im sorry I use them and hoping with this review youll learn not to make the same mistake I did.

BEWARE This company just said they were shipping a $20 dollar rug by truck instead of UPS; so instead of $20 max for shipping they want $420.00; . . .for a $20 dollar rug!!! I have been trying to reach them for 10 days, they will not respond by email nor by phone, no matter what button I push on the menu! OMG!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! . . . This was my former review before the latest debacle: Shipping is insanely expensive, when things are lost you wait 30 days, then they begin the process of your refund. So you are paying interest for a loooooooooong time for nothing. BEWARE THIS COMPANY, SHOP ETSY OR ANY OTHER SITE, THEY ARE USUALLY CHEAPER AND DO NOT STEAL FROM YOU. TWO ITEMS IN DISPUTE NOW.

in early 2023 i bought a home filled to the rim with 100 years of sellable items. I was overwhelmed with what was left in this house. I spoke with the CEO of EBTH and she assured me that EBTH was the ideal match to help me lean out the items with an online sale. So i utilized EBTH to liquidate what i didn't need. I literally took 4 days off work to help them sort through all this amazing inventory for an online sale. Here's the problem: They took items they were instructed not to and i was never told that if ANY ITEM that sells for under 30 dollars i get nothing. I literally just got a check for 6 dollars becuase an item sold for 36 dollars. Anyone would better off selling these items yourself at a great price or tossing them in the trash. 4 days of my time is worth way more then 6 dollars. I emailed in a request to speak to the CEO about my experience and was told they would forward my comments to her but i could not call her or speak to her myself. Im sorry but what a garbage service and now she is unreachable. No thanks. Avoid this company.

You know, in the past I would have given this website at least four stars.... I am deeply disappointed to see that since I first learned about this site, which was several years ago, they've decided to hike up their shipping rates unbelievably. I mean, come on, they're located in Ohio, why does it cost $23 to have a ring shipped from their auction house to an Ohio address? Then they have that fake shipping calculator ..Really? Why even bother? Why not just say all shipping starts at $23 because everything I clicked on said at least that much...SMH They know you have people that buy and resell shopping on there, Why would they not at least offer the option to do combined shipping?? It's really sad to see this.. the more successful a business gets, the more they try to take... you would think it would be the other way around. They really ought to be ashamed of themselves. I used to buy stuff on there and not even look at the shipping... just bid on whatever I liked, but not anymore. I won't be buying a lot of items from there in the future unless it's something I really really want for myself and not to resell because there's certainly no room to make any money. And I lump Goodwill in with them.. they got online and made Forbes list and now they're just gouging people with that shipping and their prices. And you know EBTH not only are you cheating the customers, but you're cheating the people that you're doing the auctions for to begin with because it's deterring people from bidding.. I know it's deterred me. It's the difference between something that sells and something you end up having to sit on because you were too greedy on the postage.
