BEWARE BEWARE! Horrible experience from this Huber Heights business. I'm a Real Estate professional and called them on behalf of an elderly client. She had inherited her sisters home which was filled with stuff and visible mold on the drywall in the finished basement. Then the sump pump backed up and left standing water in the back room. Our plan was to have an estate sale and then have Servpro come and demo basement to studs and scrub home for any mold spurs that might be in the upstairs however the standing water made the matter urgent. When I called Jenny she was personable and said she would send someone out. They came and took pictures of everything. She called me back and said the owner had reviewed and gave me explicit instructions. 1. Remove contents 2. Repair leaking window 3. Evaluate a possible leaking pipe 4. Get a mold test. I asked to speak with the owner because I needed the water removed first then we had planned to demo to the studs. I wanted to ask him if we could have the mold test after that to determine what was left and how to treat? Jenny informed me that I couldn’t not speak with him but she would relay the information. She called me back and said their process was how she had stated above and that was how we had to proceed. I explained that the upstairs was full already and she said I had to start with removing the contents from the basement. I asked if that would transfer any mold upstairs and she replied that it would have already traveled through the HVAC system. So that is what we did. We removed the contents upstairs, had the plumber replace the sump pump and verify no leaks, and had the company she recommended come and test for mold. I called her back and said when are you coming to get the water out of the carpet in the back room? Then she said that she had spoken with the owner again and we had to empty the house first. WHAT!? Now we have a first floor that you cannot walk through much less have an estate sale and they still won’t come and get the water out of the basement? I still don’t know where the lack of communication happened. There could have been NO misunderstanding about the volume of contents of the entire house and estate sale. I take notes and wrote verbatim her instructions. Someone had warned me about Servpro during this process but I felt comfortable that we were on the same page so I continued. Finally, the family has stepped into help my elderly client remove the contents so we can sell the home. They called Jenny to get the quote and they are refusing service. BEWARE, BEWARE of this company. I was warned and didn’t listen. I will be talking about this experience to my clients for many years to come.

Very nasty sewer cleanup in the crawlspace. They came, cleaned it all up and dried it. Horrible experience made good by a group of professionals.

We had a 3" septic line in our crawlspace break and spill waste into our crawlspace. Unfortunately the only thing that alerted us to this was the smell and that didn't make its way into the house for a couple of weeks. When we determined what the smell was, we called Servpro the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Eric was out the next morning to take a look at it. I called two other companies as well: one couldn't make it out that fast and didn't show up until Friday, and the other showed up but refused to go into the crawlspace to look at the damage. They wanted to charge me $500.00 just to go into the crawlspace, even though I was told a consultation was free. Eric went into the crawlspace with me, without hesitation or complaint. We looked at the extent of the damage, he took measurements and said he would get with the owner and come up with the best price they could. In the end Servpro was the best initial price but it wasn't the price that persuaded me to use them. Eric was great to work with, the entire staff was nice, punctual and completed the job quickly and with great results. After everything was complete I went into the crawlspace again to check all the work. Everything was removed and cleaned, new vapor barrier, gravel and insulation was installed just as they said it would be. I was surprised that just within a few hours the smell in the crawlspace was almost non-existent. While they were down there, they noticed that some of the insulation hangers had failed and insulation was sagging in some spots. They re-hung this insulation and we were never charged additional for this service. They left us a air purifier to run inside our house to mitigate the smell. Eric checked in with us several times over the next couple days to ensure the smell was gone, as he didn't want to take the unit until the smell was completely gone. In the end they did a great job and actually invoiced us for less than what was initially quoted. They submitted everything to our insurance for us and somehow got them to cover what insurance initially said they would not cover. My family is grateful for the services they performed; it went a long way to ease our minds and focus more on the holidays rather than the disaster in our crawlspace.
