On 10/17, I ordered a wine advent calendar for friends, taking care to order early because of the disruption in delivery services caused by COVID-19. The order was confirmed, and on 10/26, I received an email saying they would send a confirmation of delivery in November.
I have heard nothing since despite emailing them and using the contact form on their website to try to remedy the problem. I have confirmed with the gifts recipients that it has not arrived.
The only other contact Ive had from Givethembeer was an email saying buy soon, advent calendars are going fast, and the fact that they processed our payment of over $200.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this business. I am disappointed that my order has not been shipped and angry at the lack of courtesy in not replying to my efforts to contact the business.
I did find a phone number on Instagram for them and called it, but its just a message telling callers to email. I have now also messaged them on Instagram and emailed again, but December 1 is tomorrow so clearly, my gift will not be arriving on time.
Update: The company did eventually get back to me, the morning after I disputed the credit card charge. Coincidence? Maybe.
Still, they did respond with the news that the calendar was being shipped. When I responded reiterating my many efforts to contact them, they refunded the shipping cost of $15, which was a nice gesture.
I tried to explain the issue was less the delay in shipping (which didnt bother me as much when I realized it was a 12 day Advent calendar and not a 24 day one) than the lack of communication. Had they simply dropped an email to purchasers that shipping had been delayed instead of maintaining radio silence, this issue would hav been avoided.
In the end, my friends got the calendar and are pleased with it, so I guess thats what matters.
Also, I misspoke about the cost. It was $185 with shipping, not over $200 as I stated earlier.
Would I buy from them again? Im not sure.

It took awhile to get a response, but once they did contact me, the issues I had were sorted out quickly.

I had several questions about the different baskets they offer, so I dropped an email to the company on a Sunday evening. The OWNER responded to my email right away on Monday morning with all the answers to my questions. (I think it is neat when the owner of companies do their own correspondence rather than relying on a secretary or someone else).
She did mention that some of the shipping times have been delayed because of Covid-19 but we should be used to that by now..... but dad received the basket a week ago and is THRILLED. Will definitely buy again in the future.
