SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Shawnee

I was on vacation in Oklahoma and suddenly became very ill. I was admitted into this hospital where I received excellent care. My attending physician Dr Gaynell Anderson was outstanding. She offered caring and compassion which was needed and so appreciated. The nursing staff were kind and attentive. My only negative comment is about the food. It was horrible! Lucky for me I was unable to eat.

Everyone was very nice. Always made regular checks on me. Everything was clean. The food was wonderful. The Dr was knowledgeable.

This was the second time I was seen by doc Raol for the same problem, I shouldve just bit the bullet and went to a hospital in the city. I have been having kidney problems and I have a history of going into kidney failure which they completely disregarded. The first time I went in to this hospital for severe kidney pain he told me it was just my menstrual cycle, which as you could imagine ticked me off. The second time I went in with severe kidney pain, last night, he said it was just a uti, which further frustrated me because I may have a uti I wont argue that but it is more than just that. I now feel worse than I did before I even went to the hospital and on top of that I was prescribed ibuprofen, which astonishes me because you are not supposed to take ibuprofen with severe kidney pain and it thins your blood and I am very anemic. I will never go back to this hospital because the lack of common medical knowledge and the fact that they dont listen to their patients concerns. I have almost passed out numerous times now, I had to call out of work, and my body is now so weak that I cant even take care of my two toddlers. I will be going to a different hospital today to get some real answers. I am beyond disappointed in the poor services I have received at this hospital.
