Ashland is a LOVELY city to visit, I can't express how much ai enjoyed it. Well worth a stopover or even an extended stay. People are incredibly friendly and pleasant. Walked around with my dog and was looking for a cup of coffee and a local happily directed me to a non Starbucks (so sick of Starbucks). Ashland aside, the hotel was also great, also worth staying at if you are in the area. Pet friendly, obviously a plus when traveling with a dog, but the first hotel that offered a little welcome package for my dog (see picture) with the dog rules and a bone and dog bedding. Was allowed to check in early which was great as I had arrived early and had driven 8 hours already. Friendly check in desk, loved the hotel itself. Bed was comfortable. Did have a fridge, no microwave, no in room coffee which is one downside. Breakfast starts at 7am ugh - im up far earlier than that, only cold options except pancake maker. For these 2 reasons I subtracted a star. Overall, I would still stay here again, would return back to the area for the city alone. Did have a dog park locally (5 minutes from hotel) but the weather unfortunately wasn't nice enough to visit. Safety: Incredibly safe, this has small town vibes and you would feel comfortable at all hours here

My wife and I have been staying here for about seven years every year for a Christmas present towards each other. Tiffany at the front desk is absolutely amazing. She was able to get the exact room that we wanted by walking us through exactly where it was. We have never had an unpleasant experience at this hotel, and will be visiting for many years to come. We highly recommend this hotel to everybody.

We ended up staying here as the reviews where good, the receptionist at check in was very cordial, and helpful, provided a map of town, local places to go etc...the room was clean, beds where not comfortable though, cozy and furnished...but I did have some challenges overnight - the AC / heater was loud, it was an old in wall system, so you could here it blast on and off, tough time finding parking too as various guests used up 2 parking spots, they should demarcate the parking lines to make it clear. The TV channels cut in and out and the Wifi connection is bad, and needs to get rebooted as it would drop connection every 20 to 30 minutes....hotel needs some upgrades, but overall the town was fantastic.
