My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Chadbourne & Doss recently regarding a potential add-on to our house. They were professional, creative, and quick to respond. This project presented quite a challenge due to budget limitations and size restrictions of the property. They came back with several clever options that would not only address all our wishes but would also maintain the current feel of the house. Well worth the money!!

Building a house is also about constructing relationships: with the building site, the environment, various and sundry subcontractors, a builder, and, crucially, with the architect(s). When my partner and I opted to build a home here on the North Coast, we interviewed several architects and builders in hopes of finding folks with whom we wanted to establish a long-term relationship. After all, the time one invests in the design process and then the actual building is extensive. Chadbourne + Doss was the perfect fit for us and they are exactly the sort of individuals who could understand our needs and exceed our expectations. The home they created for us, and it is far more than just a house, is beautiful to both regard and inhabit, allows for us to grow older comfortably through clever planning, and fits our community and lifestyle appropriately. I can think of no other architects so sensitive and responsive to all of the competing demands placed by clients and our local municipality; Daren and Lisa handled every challenge with composure and savvy. They also improved our knowledge of structural materials and refined our preferences into a unique style that others compliment frequently. I can think of no more appropriate comment than that I would not hesitate to recommend their services to others who want this sort of relationship.

My wife and I engaged Chadbourne & Doss for an architectural design for a potential added two story room to our small house in Astoria. The response was fantastic and the cost ended up to be as estimated. We went through several iterations and each one was brought back to us in a very timely manner. The interactions were professional, friendly, and very creative. Absolutely first-rate! Would highly recommend this firm.

Lifting up a smaller firm because of lack of understanding from people who are unable to support Art and Technology. I understand how others can not understand because they do not have our God given talents and that is there torment. I pray for them. I appreciate your talents and I wish you the best success!

Very unprofessional. They answered the phone with a "hello?" I asked if this was chadbourne and doss architects to which they responded "yeah, who is this?" Went on to explain that they don't get involved with projects that are less than a $100k budget. All fine and well and I appreciated them being upfront, however it would have been more courteous to refer me to a smaller outfit.
