My favorite hotel for a comfortable weekend.

This is a Hilton property I have stayed at once before. I have stayed at other Homewood Suites (Richland) and have been quite pleased. I decided to try the Beaverton Homewood again because the Home 2 Suites in Hillsboro has work being done on it and parking is at a premium unless you want to drag your stuff up the hill. Since my work keeps me in one place for 5 days I like having a full refrigerator. I decided to try the Homewood again not quite remembering why I didnt stay there more. Well, I selected a room 322, it didnt indicate it being accessible, but it was in what appeared to be a more private area with only one room next to it. The room and bedroom were really good. The LED TVs could be a bit larger and some paper towels would be nice but where the room really fell down was the toilet and bathtub room. Toilet was fine except it had a TP dispenser designed to also hold a spare roll. With a full roll of TP being held and a full roll in reserve there is no way to pull off TP. Put the spare roll on the shelf above the toilet. The bath tub with its collection of grab bars is a failure. This is Hiltons standard because if you get a room with a tub you get the grab bars which prevent there to be anyway you can position the shower curtain to keep the water in the tub and not on the floor. A 10 minute shower will deliver enough water to the floor to soak one of the 3 bath towels. You can see amateurish caulking around the baseboard in an attempt to keep water from seeping into the room below. The lock set on the door was ready to fall off. It had some weird adapter plate on the door so a different lock set could be placed on the door. Since the lock set is read to fall off the door, this is a failure. This Homewood Suites is constantly the most expensive property among the Hilton properties along Highway 26 in Beaverton and Hillsboro and I would expect better. Until Hilton properties is willing to pay for a quality, skilled maintenance staff, the repairs I see being done at Hilton properties are poor and ineffective. Im a Hilton Honors member with over 1.3 million points so I see Hilton properties and they, at this time, are suffering from a lack of skilled maintenance. $25hr isnt going to attract someone making 3 times that who has the skills to repair and provide PM to their properties. It almost seems as though they treat their properties as throw aways. Let them get trashed and then renovate or dispose of them.

I have been here for a month now, the rooms are dated and not up to par for what I have experienced with Hilton in the past, the furniture is scraped damaged and some falling apart, light bulbs were burnt-out, the carpet is torn and one of the TV remotes had dead batteries in it. There are storage containers and pallets in the parking lot that indicate a remodel is in progress but I have not seen any work being done.
