        Better to have 4WD in order to get to this trailhead but not required. Boarda and Rangers were present. At the time we went no passes were required but check before you go. Short walk up to the lake from trailhead which leads to other trails. Nice meadow view and lots of wildlife even at trailhead. Also, cell phone worked at trailhead which doesn't always happen. Very dog friendly and all ages around. Not recommended for walking handicaped. Elevation could also be a health concern so check in advance. Half of us hiked with the dog and half of us stayed at trailhead. Happy Hiking! Fees: check website for fees and passes Dog-friendliness: dogs on leash recommended
