Dr. Waibel and the team were incredibly helpful, efficient, and welcoming. Definitely wasnt expecting to enjoy my time here based off of past doctor visits elsewhere. For the first time, I felt like I was listened to and that my doctor actually cared about where I was at, what a relief. It also helps that you can schedule appointments within a day or two. Even got a prescription sent within five minutes of contacting their office. Very happy

I'm actually writing this review partially in response to a negative review given to my doctor at the clinic. Portland Adventist as the name suggests was founded on Christian principles. I'm NOT a Christian. I've studied some theology and I think of myself as spiritual but I don't claim any particular religion. I'm 71 years old. I wear my white hair well below my shoulders and have a full beard. Most ultra conservatives take me for gay but I'm not. I'm a retired Army Officer who enjoys seeing the Military Police gate guard at Lewis McChord salute the old guy who needs a haircut when I drive through the gate (usually in some old obnoxious hot rod). My spiritual and political views have never been an issue at the clinic and Dr. Sarcher (my second primary care doc there) has never struck me as being overly focused on religion although he is as far as I know a Christian man. I'm very concerned about what seems to be a religious cleansing of Portland Adventist in the wake of the OHSU takeover. I had a gastroenterologist at Portland Adventist who always wanted to say a prayer before any surgery. He never asked me to pray, and if it made him feel better I thought it was fine. He left shortly before the OHSU takeover. It's one thing to ask a sports team to pray before a game (too much pressure against opting out), but another thing all together to personally practice ones own beliefs in the work environment so long is no one else feels compelled to be involved. I've seen some real atrocities at OHSU, especially when they work with the VA. I want this clinic to remain just as it is, kind people focused on patient care. I hope OHSU takes that to heart, and I want to reaffirm that I've never felt rejected there just for being something of an old hippie. Dr Sarcher is one of the most attentive physicians I've ever had, often reviewing my record to suggest exams & treatments that I wouldn't have personally thought of. He's bright too. I was a college math instructor for over a decade after I retired from the Army. I know smart when I see it. My previous primary care doctor at the clinic was like that as well. I hope to stay with the Damascus clinic for as long as I can.

Run far and run fast. I received less than adequate care from Matthew Satcher, and have decided to switch PCPs. I had chronic abdominal pain that Satcher literally poked at about 5 times, then said its probably due to me not eating well. After a later visit to the urgent care it turns out I have a hiatal hernia- my stomach is going up into my chest cavity. Thanks Satcher! On top of that, after trying to switch from Adventist to OHSU, I had a mystery provider from Adventist Damascus actually CANCEL my scheduled ultrasound two days before it was to occur. Patient advocacy is currently involved, this is the second appointment in one month that Adventist has decided needs to be canceled for no reason, and without letting me know. This is a highly religious, conservative provider; if you are not a cis hetero white person, please try to find care elsewhere. Also keep in mind this facility was not taking covid precautions during mandate, I had a nurse remove her mask because it was fogging her glasses during our very short interaction in a closed room. Overall bad experience.
