        Banking with them only because of a merger, but wanted to get a new credit card and went through phone tree hell and not able to actually speak with anyone. Went onto their website to schedule an appointment and kept getting a bad code message. So went into this branch and three bored staff behind the counter unable to assist. Finally got to the relationship manager and he was clueless as to the product I was looking for. I had to direct him as to where to find it on his website. He called someone on the organization to check on HOW to go about getting the product followed by him asking for a copy of my financials and how am I supposed to know that I needed those when Ive not been able to get in touch with them. Called the Mulnomah Village location and thankfully they were knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

        Dont accept checks from Umpqua/Columbia bank. They will rip you off with fees.

        Now that they have switched from Columbia Bank to Umpqua after the merge I dont get to see checks that are clearing until the next day. Why would you hold that information back from customers? It seems really sketchy. Ive banked with West Coast, which merged with Columbia Bank, since 2007 but now that they are Umpqua I think Im ready to start shopping for a new bank. Very disappointing
