Family 1st Building & Remodeling

Family 1st Building & Remodeling did an incredible job! Our house had issues with flooring, sub-floor, and framing. Joey and his crew worked tirelessly to fix the issues. We didnt think all of the issues could be repaired, but he and his team were able to resolve all of them! We are grateful to Joey and Family 1st and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Working with Family 1st was absolutely the best experience! I would recommend them above all others. They were respectful, responsible, kind, and enjoyable to have in our home. They did amazing work and I will look to them for all future projects. This is our third remodel in Bend, and our first time working with them, so I have lots of objective information backing this review.

We just finished our kitchen remodel with Family 1st Building & Remodeling! This is my 4th kitchen remodel and my first time working with Family First. We could not be happier with the final outcome! This company truly cares about its customers and also protecting their health as well as their home during the entire process. None of the products they use pose any hazard to your health and they run a HEPA-type air cleaner during much of the remodel process to keep the air filtered and clean. From step one of this project, meeting with the contractors wife to discuss the projectit was obvious this company was different than the last contractors I worked with. They really do care about the impact the remodel process has on your family and they take additional steps to ensure the job is done right, safely and in a timely manner. For example, they covered the work area in heavy plastic and had zippered doorways to keep the dust/debris from entering the rest of the home. They were very considerate about covering the floors to protect them, they did not leave debris out in the yard and the work area was always left clean and tidy. We were able to still function for part of the remodel in the kitchen, as they were kind enough to put down some temporary countertops as well as a temporary sink to use during the period we were waiting for our Quartz countertops to be installed. This made the whole process much less painful- as I was able to still cook and do dishes! This company truly does put families first! They also are honest, reliable and have great communication skills. These are qualities that are very rare these days! Family 1st was truly a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate a moment about referring them out to any of my family or friends. The quality of work was outstanding and truly exceeded my expectations. We had our countertops replaced with quartz from tile. We had our high top, 2 step bar cut down into a single level. We had a new cooktop & downdraft put in as well as a new sink, instant hot, faucet, and all new subway tile backsplash. We truly love the newly remodeled kitchen! Thanks Family 1st! Jude

Family 1st B&R is amazing! We replaced a toxic ventless firebox in our main living space with a beautiful custom-built fireplace that we designed ourselves, which was our first ever major reno project for our first ever home we bought. (I really wanted a proper cozy fireplace for those cold snowy winters in Bend!) I was nervous about undertaking such a huge project, but we love the final result and couldn't be happier we chose Family 1st for our project!!! So Joey and Diana were very professional and they helped us every step of the way. They patiently answered all our questions, took the time to explain every little detail, printed out and emailed all the paperwork on time, and always made sure we were happy with each new step. We even had to change the plans midway through due to a supply issue and we ended up with a custom live slab edge mantle that is even more gorgeous that the original stone we picked out. Our fireplace passed all inspections the first time around too without issue so that was pretty reassuring too. What I appreciate about Joey is that he does extremely high quality, careful work to make sure everything is right and he doesn't cut corners or cheap out. He tells you what the options are and how much it will cost and he sticks to that number and does whatever it takes to make sure everything is done right. He also really cares about using non-toxic, eco-friendly ingredients which is important to us because we have little ones at home so I only wanted safe paint, stains, etc. We had some great convos about organic food while we were (literally) waiting for the paint to dry lol. And we even went out to lunch together on the last day of the job to celebrate its completion!! Overall, Joey is truly a master craftsperson and his craft work is impeccable (I should know... I was a former Jr High woodworking teacher lol). I feel like we didn't just have a contractor, we had a friend. I can count on Joey for anything else we need for our home (he also installed a fire escape ladder, sealed some rodent holes around our foundation, fixed my bookcase, and hung my porch swing...) and I'd recommend him 100% Services: General construction, Install flooring, Home renovations, Paint indoors, Remodeling, Drywall installation, Flooring
