This is an absolutely gorgeous area that is currently unmaintained, due to a landslide that closed the road to the trailhead. It has tons of down trees blocking the trail, as well as the forest service roads near it. It is closed part of the year, every year, so check the nature preserves website. I would not recommend it, unless you are a very seasoned hiker and willing to climb over, around and under all the debris, including belly crawling in a couple spots. Dogs are not allowed. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are not allowed.

Got there early and took our time taking in the fresh air. The view at the end was worth every step. Breathtaking view of the cove

I was so sore, I could barely walk for days after this hike! Lol Its super steep heading to the destination, so you know what youre getting into on the way out. Know your bodys limits with this one. If youre not in the best shape (like me) try hiking some trails that are known to be a bit milder/less steep to condition yourself first. With that said, I definitely enjoyed the views. The trail is narrow and well kept. Dogs are allowed on leash. We went early and hit fog at the final view point of the cove So if you really want to see it, make sure you go after the fog has lifted off the coast line. You can hear sea lions barking about halfway down, but we never did find them. But it was a nice element to the hike. :)
