La Petite Academy of Sherwood

This is a lovely school that really cares about the kids. Very happy some little boy has joined, he has thrived since going here for daycare.

We were looking for a day care and found this place. After scouring the website and reading about their teaching philosophy we felt like we had found a place we would be happy sending our child to. I called a scheduled a tour and everything seemed great, the woman on the phone was kind and seemed nice enough. They said they had a spot open for our child. We showed up to our tour and we were greeted by the Director who informed us her assistant would be showing us the facility. She walked us into the room and told us about the schedule and really emphasized that our child needed to be down to one nap a day. There was very little information that she provided us. The teachers all seemed really nice and the kids were very happy which was nice to see. Something in my gut was telling me something was wrong but I could not put my finger on it. She then told me she would call the next day or so to move forward then we would have a 72 hour window to respond and pay for our spot. Well she never called but corporate did and asked if we wanted to reschedule the tour since they had been informed that we had not attended the tour. I explained that we had attended and the gentleman from corporate asked how the director did on giving us the tour and I informed him that her assistant was the one who provided the tour and I let him know it was lack luster, but that the children all seemed really happy which is why we were still considering going with La Petite. I reached out to the center and was informed that the spot that had been there turned out to not to actually be open after all. It was very convenient that this center told us they would call us back and then didn't after meeting us. I happen to be a black women and I can't be 100% sure if this has anything to do with why the spot magically disappeared and why we were never called again or not, but it something that crossed my mind. I'm disgusted with their handling of this situation and the fact that there actions led to contemplation of bigotry. She also informed me that I could call back in a few months and see if a spot had opened. Yeah right! This whole exsperiance was cringe worthy. This Le Petitie Academy is not worth our time or effort as they so clearly do not operate with the same sort of values their corporate office espouses.

My sons love Le Petite. The teachers and preK are awesome. There is some hectic with toddler 1 class; they keep changing teacher but we waiting for our son move to toddler 2. We loveeee Tom, how gentle and guiding he is to kids. The problem is its difficult to get your child in. We have been waiting 6 months to go from 3 days to 5 days a week.
